What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia IS…
…both a gift and a challenge.
…something that can be helped.
…a way of thinking that you can control.
…a way of reacting to confusion.
…something you can get to the root of.
…something to be proud of.

Dyslexics…
…are usually good at thinking in pictures.
…are usually able to think multi-dimensionally.
…often excel in hands-on learning.
…are usually smart.
…are usually creative.
…can usually “think outside the box.”
…are usually “big picture” thinkers.

Dyslexia is NOT…
…a disease.
…a problem that can’t be helped.
…something you have to learn lots of tricks to get around.
…something to be ashamed of.

She is the director of Renaissance Mind, a southern California learning facility that empowers children to realize their giftedness and overcome learning obstacles.
